A Welcome from Our Pastors

Welcome! What can we say about Barrington Baptist Church? This church is full of kind, joyful people following Jesus wholeheartedly.

Our church has a rich history and a dynamic future. Almost from the start, we have placed a strong emphasis on creating a space for the next generation to grow in their relationship with God. As the church grew in its earliest days, there was a growing desire to make space for education and youth needs. Instead of expanding the newly constructed worship space, the church decided to build Cedar Hall to benefit the youth of the community. We still use Cedar Hall today for all things youth-related and in connection with Barrington Christian Academy. While we have reached youth and families for decades here in the East Bay, we have also reached around the world with a strong and faithful emphasis on global missions... bringing the grace and truth of Jesus to people around the world.

We believe that our future is even brighter because of this rich history. We have so much to build upon! It's a new day at BBC, and we have a renewed spirit and resolve to pursue our mission: to follow Jesus and lead others to Him. We would love to have you be a part of what God is doing in and through the people of Barrington Baptist Church.

- Scotty & Kim

What to Expect

What time does your service start?

Our worship service begins at 9:30 a.m. on Sundays. First Steps is available during the worship service for your child, infants through age 3. Every week First Steps has play time, Bible lesson, snack time, and a time of worship and singing. Kids' Worship is a high-energy and meaningful time of worship for elementary school-aged kids.

How do I get to BBC?

Our address is 25 Old County Road in Barrington, Rhode Island. We are just west of the Wampanoag Trail (Rts 114/103). Click here for directions, or call the church office at 401-246-0188 if you need any help.

Where do I park?

We are blessed with a big parking lot! We have reserved a few spaces for our new guests in the parking lot between Barrington Christian Academy and the church along Old County Road closest to the church building. There is also parking available for those needing assistance just to the west of the church building.

What happens in a service?

Our worship service usually lasts as short as an hour and as long as an hour and fifteen minutes. We sing contemporary songs accompanied by a band and historic hymns accompanied by an organ or piano. From time to time we enjoy hearing our choir. We always listen to a relevant message from the Bible.

What do I wear?

We try to create an atmosphere that is relaxed; a "come as you are" atmosphere where you can wear a pair of jeans or your "Sunday best" and feel welcome just the same.

What about my kids?

We offer First Steps for infants through age 3, as well as Kids' Worship for elementary school-aged kids, during the 9:30 worship service. Of course, we invite all children to sit with their parents, but provide First Steps and Kids' Worship as alternative choices.

What about coffee or refreshments?

Following our 9:30 worship service - and before we head off to classes - you are invited to join us for coffee, tea, and other refreshments in our Fellowship Room just steps from where you sit for the service. We take our food pretty seriously around here, so you are sure to find some real treats... and the company is great, too!

What else happens on Sunday?

As we prepare for our 9:30 worship service, many of us gather to pray at 9:15 in the Fellowship Room. After the worship service, we gather in the Fellowship Room for refreshments and a time to catch up. At 11:00 - from the youngest to the oldest - we head to our classes to study the Bible or another topic of interest related to our relationship with Jesus.

What about the rest of the week?

Various teams meet at different times during the week to pray and plan. Our choir and praise team meet to practice. Our Middle School and High School Youth Groups meet on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m., and there are studies for both men and women. Be sure to check out the church calendar for times and meeting places for a whole host of team meetings, studies, and other ministries.
